HALDRUP has turned an everyday logistics necessity into a genuine sustainability success. Wooden pallets and packaging materials arriving with supplier deliveries now feed directly into the heating system at the Ilshofen site, instead of being disposed of.

A high-performance plant shreds the wood packaging at up to 80 pallets per hour, automatically separating out any metal parts. The resulting wood chips cover the entire heat demand of the 16,000 m² production and office space.

The numbers speak for themselves: the system replaces around 170,000 litres of heating oil per year, avoiding over 450,000 kg of CO₂.

Wood is a renewable resource. The carbon released during combustion corresponds exactly to the amount the tree absorbed while growing — no additional emissions are created. The cycle is closed. And the principle behind it is simple: sustainability isn't offset, it's built.

HALDRUP has completed a major investment at its main site in Ilshofen: a new 3,000 m² logistics hall that doubles the production capacity available on site.

The building brings parts procurement, intralogistics and dispatch together into a single, seamless flow of materials. Every step now takes place under one roof, without unnecessary transport routes, in a production environment designed for efficiency, precision and growth.

HALDRUP generates its own electricity – because energy independence is a fundamental prerequisite for reliable deliveries.

The roofs of the HALDRUP Ilshofen site are equipped with a photovoltaic system with an output of 500 kWp. On annual average, it covers 100% of the site's electricity demand.

Surplus energy is stored in batteries and released again when solar output declines, ensuring a stable supply around the clock. Storage capacity is currently being expanded further.

Combined with the wood-chip heating system that converts incoming packaging into energy, two of HALDRUP's most important energy areas – electricity and heat – are now largely produced on site from renewable sources.
